Fake Apple Store: China hunts for bad 'Apples'
Chinese authorities carried out raids in several electronic shop after an American blogger found a fake 'Apple Store' in Kunming city that sold duplicate Apple products like iPad 2, iPhones, iPod Touch and many more.
"The inspections were carried out after three self-named 'Apple Stores' were exposed via the Internet, but are not authorised by Apple Inc," said the official Xinhua press.
According to media reports officials from industrial and commercial department were checking the business licences, authorised permits on brand use, and the purchase channel of each store.
Earlier, bolgger 'BirdAbroad' found a fake Apple Store in Kunming which sold duplicate products by acting as a authorised store from Apple Inc. The fake store boasts words "Apple Store" written over the entryway and its employees were wearing famous blue T-shirt and tags, which are used in real Apple Stores.
Later, Apple Inc confirmed that the alleged 'Apple Store' in China was an unauthorised shop. Moreover, when the incident grabbed headlines in major medias, several nations started to take actions against fake store in their country.
