Telangana bandh: Shut down over youth's suicide

Hyderabad, Jul 22: Here comes another paralysed day to hit the normal Andhra life following the bandh on Friday, Jul 22 called by the Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC). The shut down is aimed to protest against the state government over disallowing Telangana leaders to pay homage to M Yadi Reddy who committed suicide in New Delhi on Wednesday, Jul 20.

Raising the number of deadly sacrifices for Telangana, M Yadi Reddy, a youth was found dead near India Gate in Delhi on Wednesday, Jul 20. The deceased, 31-year-old Mandadi Adhireddy reportedly committed suicide and left a suicide note of ten page cursing the government for delaying the decision on Telangana.

Mandadi was a resident of Moinabad village in Rangareddy and reportedly reached the national capital just a day before he hanged self.

Reddy's body, which was flown from Delhi on Thursday night, was taken in an ambulance to his native village Peddamangalarm. Police arrested scores of Telangana supporters who were on their way to the airport to receive his body.

Schools, colleges, shops and other commercial establishments remained closed in Hyderabad and other Telangana districts. The agitators broke windows and deflated the tyres of a few buses at some places following which APSRTC were compelled to suspend the transport services. Petrol bunks were also closed.
