The writer has asked AK Antony, Defence Minister to urge President, Pratibha Patil to strip him off the title.
"It is really a shame that superstars are involved in evading tax and they are doing it by exploiting their innocent fans," said Azhikode after I-T raids took place at Mohanlal's residence and offices in the morning on Friday, Jul 22 (today).
Mohanlal was honoured by giving the position of Lt. Colonel in Territorial Army after he portrayed various characters in Malayalam movies as defence officer.
Azhikode and Mohanlal are at each others throat since 2010 after the superstar called the writer mentally unbalanced.
Azhikode had filed a case of defamation against the actor and a legal notice was sent to Mohanlal to either apologise or face legal action. Mohanlal was bailed in Jun in the case.
The tiff between the duo started after Azhikode in 2010, said that Mohanlal should act only in movies that fit his age and physique. He further said that the actor was getting old and hence should stop making money out of endorsements.
Mohanlal hit back at Azhikode saying that the writer was having "hallucinations" and his statements were "aged uncle joke" adding that it was none of the writer's business to worry if he should act or not.
