Singh has been indicted in the scam allegedly sending money as bribe to win over three BJP lawmakers during the 2008 trust vote in the Parliament.
After the arrest of Suhail Hindustani, one of the whistle-blowers over the whole incident, on Wednesday, many started speculating that Amar Singh can be the third person to be arrested over the scam. The Home Ministry also has given the go-ahead to question Amar Singh on the same day.
However, what made many to raise eyebrows was Hindustani's mention of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president, Sonia Gandhi in the whole cash-for-votes scandal.
During the grilling time on Wednesday, Hindustani had claimed, "I received calls from Amar Singh and Ahmed Patel (Political Secretary to Congress President Sonia Gandhi). Those close to Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh) called me and even from 10-Janpath (Gandhi's residence)."
Now, time will ultimately unveil the final curtain over the fate of Amar Singh on Friday.
