Bollywood actress gets only 10k per month from ex-husband
The application was filed by Netaji Salunke, who works as a doctor in Australia after a lower court ordered that he pay Rs 10,000 to the actress as maintenance.
Viday Sinha and Salunke, a widower met after they started chatting online in 2001. After courting each other, the couple decided to tie the knot and lived in Andheri.
Their relationship however started souring and in 2009 Sinha filed a complaint against her husband claiming that he tortured her both physically and mentally and demanded money from her.
The couple who adopted a daughter together, later parted their ways. Salunke however refused to pay for the upbringing of the child, prompting the actress to file a case against him in lower court.
The court ordered that Salunke pay Rs 10,000 per month towards as maintenance fee to Sinha.
Salunke however filed an appeal against the order on grounds that Sinha was a television actress and could very well bring up the child on her own. He also claimed that Sinha owned a flat in Mhada colony, Andheri.
Salunke's plea was however rejected by the lower court. Sinha, a popular actress in 1970's starred in hits like Chhoti Si Baat ana Pati, Patni aur Woh.
