Satya Sai Baba Ashram
Puttarparthi, Jul 20: Godman Sathya Sai Baba's Yajur Mandir should be better termed as a "Treasure Island" as there seems to be no stopping for the raining of valuables, including gold and silver.

A day after 340 kg of silver, 5.8 crore worth gold and at-least 2 crore in cash were revealed, more treasures tumbled out from Baba's personal rooms.

Officials found 737 kg of silver worth Rs 4.5 crore, a gold crown (weighing half a kilo) worth Rs 11 lakh, Rs 32 lakh in cash and a diamond set of which value is yet to be estimated. A gold bracelet studded with Belgium diamonds, silver slippers, a silver throne, panchaloha (five-metal ) idols of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman and a statue of Lord Krishna were found.

Adding to this, 2,000 expensive silk saris, silk dhotis, watches, pens and gift articles were found from rooms during searches supervised by social welfare department special officer D Venkatesam.

The Sathya Sai Central Trust members denied any knowledge about the unearthed valuable treasures that shocked everyone. The authorities are also mulling over breaking open some of the lockers, which could not be opened inside one of the rooms. "Once these lockers are opened, more gold, silverware and cash could tumble out," sources said.
