New Kanpur IITians have to sign "No Ragging" affidavit
Ragging is a traditional practice in all the IITs around the country. The seniors impose the toughest and most harsh actions and punishments over the juniors in order to gain pleasure. Amongst all other engineering institutes around the nation, IIT tops the list with its deadly examples of ragging.
All students have to sign and submit an affidavit to the Institute that disciplinary action can be initiated against them if found involved in any kind of ragging, Institute's registrar Sanjeev Kashalkar said.
Classes will start from 25th of July following an orientation programme for new students that is scheduled till 23rd of this month, Kashalkar said.
