Bihar Assembly adjourns over Forbesganj firing
As soon as the House assembled for the day, opposition leader in the state Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui raked up the issue of Forbesganj firing and wanted to know the fate of the adjournment notice sent by the opposition MLAs for a debate on the issue.
Speaker asked Siddiqui to sit down and allow the question hour to continue. "You are free to raise the issue at an appropriate time," Choudhary urged.
However, Opposition MLAs did not not relent and stormed the well of the House twice. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav said the state government was ready to debate whatever issue the opposition wanted to put across but it should have prior permission from the Business Advisory Committee of the House.
As noisy scenes prevailed with RJD MLAs raising slogans in the well, Speaker adjourned the House for ten minutes at around 11 am.
Calmness returned to the House after it re-assembled when Choudhary said a debate would take place on the Forbesganj firing after the conclusion of the legislative business today in keeping with the decision taken at the Business Advisory Committee of the House during the adjournment.
He later took up the question-hour.
