"We recovered gold jewellery worth about Rs. 6.5 lakh and sex toys including sex game CDs (different models) and high-end lingerie worth Rs. 3.5 lakh," said the official.
The woman was caught by Sameer Wankhede, Deputy Commissioner and then later she was handed for further investigation to Air Intelligence Unit (AIU).
The woman was unaware of such law and restrictions to carry such items (sex toys) and mentioned that she carried it for her personal use, said the official.
The official further added that the woman was a resident of US and she was in Mumbai to attend her daughter's wedding.
"The woman was intercepted with jewellery and sex toys, and she has been booked under the section 110 of Indian customs Act and all her goods has been seized. She was released on the same day but she will be called in for further investigation," said Mahendra Pal, Additional Commissioner AIU, Mumbai customs.
