Ilyas Kashmiri
Islamabad, Jul 16: According to media reports, Ilyas Kashmiri, commander and Harkat-ul-jihad-al-Islami leader who was believed to have been killed in a US drone attack in Pakistan's South Waziristan tribal region in June, 2011 is still alive and active.

Dawn News Channel reports reveal that Ilyas is residing in the border areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Though the US and the Pakistani government failed to confirm his death, it was reported that on Jun 3, 2011, nine militants including Kashmiri were killed in a US drone attack that targeted a compound in the Ghwakhwa area of South Waziristan, a Taliban stronghold.

But, now the scenario transforms as it has been claimed that the dreadful Al-Qaeda commander is still surviving. He was the key suspect in the 2008 Mumbai attacks and the alleged mastermind of the terrorist strike on a naval airbase in Karachi on May 22. He has also carried out several militant attacks both in india and Pak.
