Mumba
Mumbai, Jul 14: The CCTV footages from Opera House that was supposed to provide vital leads in the Mumbai attacks will not provide any insight into the triple blasts that shook the city, said Chief Minister, Maharashtra.

In what was thought to be a major breakthrough, intelligence sources had revealed yesterday (Jul 14) that the footage obtained from the Opera House blast site showed three-four people conversing on phone for more than 90 minutes.

"diamond traders...or in any trading in Mumbai...so much of it is done on the phone," Prithviraj Chavan had said on the speculations that those talking on phone could be traders.

He added that it would be "far-fetched" to say that that these people could be providing "providing a running commentary."

Chavan further said that forensic evidences are being combined by teams of experts from Delhi and Maharashtra ATS with the security cameras installed at the blast sites-Opera House, Opera House and Dadar.

Sources disclosed that the Zaveri Bazaar footages showed people walking with umbrellas and none of their faces were visible because of heavy raining.

Rejecting the Human bomb theory Chavan said, "It is not logical to have electronic timer and a suicide bomber. But we are looking at it very carefully. Maybe the body was too close to the impact of the explosion. I would not like to speculate too much on this. Home Minister is looking closely at all this," and added "No route, no theory should be ruled out. I have told the police to look even at remotest possibility."

There are speculations that the blast could be cell phone triggered or a timer device could have been used to blow up the bomb.

The three back to back blasts in Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and Dadar have left 18 dead and at least 131 people injured.
