Mayawati reviews law and order situation in UP

Lucknow, Jul 15: In the wake of bomb blasts in Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today (Jul 15)  reviewed the security scenario in the state and asked the officials concerned to coordinate with central intelligence agencies and ensure transaction of informations, inputs and leads.

Mayawati, while addressing senior police and administration officials at a law and order review meeting at her residence asked them to coordinate with central intelligence agencies and ensure transaction of informations, inputs and leads.

"The police officials should also ensure that no one could vitiate communal atmosphere of the state and strict action should be initiated against those involved in any mischief", she said.

About incidents of crime against women, Mayawati said that disciplinary action would be taken against deputy SPs if there was rise in crime in their respective circles.

Similar action would be initiated against DMs, SPs and DIGs if there was rise in crime against girls and women in their districts, she warned.

She said that FIR on crime against women should be immediately registered and those involved should be arrested at the earliest

"If police officials are found saving the guilty, they will not only be immediately suspended but can also be terminated, if their involvement is proved. Similar action will be initiated against doctors, found involved in saving criminals," Mayawati said.

She also directed to hold review meeting at government level in presence of DGP, Cabinet Secretary and other officials on every Sunday for west, central and east zones to check crime.
