Rajinikanth effect: Diwali comes early to Chennai

Chennai, Jul 13: It seems that diwali has come early in Chennai as people have started celebrating with crackers and their faces have been enlighten with the news that their Boss - Rajinikanth is finally coming back to the city in his own style.

After a tough fight with deteriorating health, the South Indian superstar will arrive at Chennai airport on Wednesday, Jul 13. Rajinikanth's wife Latha and other family members also will accompany him.

Rajinikanth's son-in-law Dhanush earlier had stated, "Yes! The star is hearty and healthy and is finally coming back home to Chennai. From the airport, he plans to head straight to his Kelambakkam guesthouse, where he intends halting for a month to completely rest and rejuvenate before getting back to work in full swing."

The superstar was admitted to intensive care unit of the city-state's Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

The 60-year-old hero has been suffering from acute gastro-intestinal and respiratory problems and was admitted to hospital thrice since Apr 29. Later he was taken to Singapore for better treatment.

Police has beefed up the security in the whole city, especially around the airport as it is expected that fans may arrive to receive the hero. Mrs Rajinikanth also urged people to use government buses and vehicles to the airport to avert unnecessary traffic and accidents.
