With this, the total number of persons arrested in the case has gone up to seven. D K Rao, a close aide of Rajan was arrested in connection with the firing incident, after he was extensively questioned, a senior police officer said.
Rao is likely to be produced before a court later today, the official added. One of the arrested accused, Umed Ul Rehman, had indicated Rao's role in the firing incident during his interrogation, police said.

Rehman (27), a sharpshooter and active member of Rajan's gang, and his associate Aasid Jaan Mohammed Shaikh (41) were apprehended in Goa on Thursday and subsequently arrested.
Two shooters Syyed Ali (29), a resident of Mumbai, and Indra Khatri (27), had earlier been arrested near J J Hospital while they were trying to escape after the firing.
Two more accused Abdul Rashad Shaikh (21) and Adnan Idaayad Sayyed (21), who had allegedly shown the target -- Kaskar's driver Bukha -- to the two shooters, were arrested on May 25.
