Cabinet reshuffle: The Ministers who are out of league

New Delhi, Jul 12: Seven ministers were out of the list when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh unveiled the long awaited reshuffle on Jul 12 (today).

The reshuffle saw seven ministers getting out of the list. The seven dropped ministers include Murli Deora (Minister of Corporate Affairs), BK Handique (Minister of Development of North Eastern Region), MS Gill (Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation), A Sai Prathap (Minister of State in the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises), Kanti Lal Bhuria (Minister of Tribal Affairs), and Arun S Yadav (Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Minister of State in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries).

Dayanidhi Maran was one of the ministers who lost his cabinet berth after his name came out in the 2G spectrum scam, while Deora resigned on grounds of old age and sought a seat for Milind Deora, his son.

The resignation letters of M S Gill, B K Handique, Kanti Lal Bhuria, Arun S Yadav and A Sai Prathap were forwarded to the President, Pratibha Patil by the Prime Minister recommending that they may be accepted.
