UPA Cabinet Reshuffle: Swearing-in ceremony under way

New Delhi, Jul 12: The new Cabinet swearing-in ceremony is currently under way at the Ashoka Hall.

- Jayanthi Natarajan swears in as Environment Minister
- Paban Singh Ghatowar swears in as the Minister of State responsible for Development of North Eastern Region
- Sudip Bandopadhyaya taking the oath as the Minister of State responsible for Health and Family Welfare. A Mamata Banerjee loyalist.
- Srikant Jena and Gurudas Kamat not attending the ceremony, boycott it citing displeasure in alloted portfolios
- Charan Das Mahant takes oath as Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industries. He is a two-time MP from Chattisgarh.
- Jitendra Singh sown in as Home Affairs Minister of State
- Milind Deora the young face of the new cabinet swore in as MoS Communications and Information Technology
- Rajiv Shukla is taking charge as the new Parliamentary Affairs Minister. He hails from the UP and a possible appeasement effort by the UPA considering the upcoming elections.
- Swearing in ceremony concludes with the playing of the National Anthem.
- Now it is the conventional photo op of the newly inducted Ministers. Handshakes and congratulations galore at the Ashoka Hall.
