Drug peddler arrested, Cops seize drugs worth Rs 13 lakh

Bangalore, Jul 11: The Central crime Branch have tracked and arrested a drug trafficker who used to obtain drugs from abroad through couriers. The detective branch also seized drugs worth Rs 13 lakh from the peddler named Mohammed Haneef.

According to the police sources, 27-year-old Haneef, a resident of Motappanapalya in Indiranagar, was selling drugs near a pub in Indiranagar 100 Feet road on Saturday, Jul 9. The cops, following a confidential information from sources, swung into action by raiding the area and nabbed Haneef red-handed.

The cops recovered, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LAD) and Methylenedioxy Amphetamine MDA) drugs, 6.8 grams of LAD blotter paper separated into 425 pieces worth Rs 1.5 lakh, 60 MDA capsules worth Rs 90,000 and 100 grams of MDA powder worth Rs 10.2 lakh from him. Two mobile phones, Rs 15,000 cash and ATM cards have also been recovered from him.

“During the course of interrogation, it came to light that Haneef managed to get the drugs from one Peter, who is in Goa. The latter organised the smuggling of drugs from Netherlands through TNT couriers," the police added.
