Jaipal Reddy presses PM for separate Telanaga state: Reports

New Delhi, Jul 8: Jaipal Reddy, Union Minister urged the Prime Minister to approve Telangana's demand for a separate state, said sources.

Jaipal Reddy met the Prime Minister to discuss the Telangana issue that has affected the congress to a great extent.

At least 100 MLAs have resigned and there are reports that 10 more MPs have sent their resignation letter to Meira Kumar, Lok Sabha Speaker.

P Chidambaram, home minister had earlier ruled out the possibly of President Rule in the crisis hit Andhra Pradesh.

The state also witnessed clashes between the police and the students at Osmania University, Hyderabad.

The Telangana MLAs, MPs who have resigned from their respective posts are now planning to lead a people"s movement for the cause. They proposed to the party high command either to accept their resignations or announce a clear-cut time-frame for the formation of the separate State.
