Along with the documents, the Grovers have also asked for a copy of case diary, charge sheet in Hindi and asked for the information collected throughout the investigation before they could approach any superior court.
"We are already pained and now do not want to suffer anymore agony and pain. At the very initial stage of the case way back in 2008, the Mumbai police though had sent me a copy of chargesheet, as it was in Marathi and English, we completely failed to understand the content of the documents," said Amarnath Grover, Neeraj's father.
"We feel the investigators failed from the very beginning to handle this case. While police officers showed complete apathy to the seriousness of the situation, the prosecution is morally responsible for the weak submission of the case into the court,'' he said.
"Approach of the police was very casual from the day one. I was shocked to know this only when Maria's lawyer, Sharif Sheikh, during the press conference held in Mumbai on Saturday, went on to claim that as per the prosecution, my son's body was not burnt and also not chopped into multiple pieces. The investigating cops had diluted the case and did not take any effective step, keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter right from the very beginning," said Amarnath.
Maria Susairaj and Emily Jerome are the Neeraj Grover murder accused. While Maria, the Kannada actress was let off by the Bombay High Court, Emily was approach on charges of culpable homicide and awarded a sentence for 10 years.
