Uttar Pradesh
New Delhi, Jul 6: It looks like the Mayawati government will have to face the music all over again over yet another official's death raising eyebrows. With increasing cases of lawlessness and anarchy that Uttar Pradesh has been witnessing in recent times, the death of Assistant accounts officer of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will act as a fresh blow to Mayawati's not-so-clean image.

The official, Hritesh Rawat was found near a railway track in the Barabanki district and his body was badly mutilated. Cash of Rs 80,000 and government files have also been recovered near the spot. The police after initial investigation said that it was a prima facie case of suicide.

Rawat's colleagues claim that he was under duress since the last few days. No suicide note was found. Rawat's car and his mobile phone was recovered a few meters away from the incident. The family members also added that he was under stress and appeared disturbed since the last few days.

Investigations are on to ascertain the circumstances behind the death. The Deputy CMO YS Sachan's death has created a huge ruckus in UP with claims that certain people were out to silence him.
