Kerala Padmanabha gold, assets to be filmed: Supreme Court
Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple's secret chambers, which were enclosed for over 150 years, were opened after the apex court issued order. The breath-holding findings of assets estimated to have already crossed almost Rs 1 lakh crore booty. The last cell - chamber B is yet to be opened.
The court asked the authorities to make video on the unearthing process of treasure hunt and on the assets which have already been found.
After the sixth continuous day of assessing the contents of the hidden vaults, a huge idol of Lord Vishnu that is studded in diamonds and precious emeralds was found among the discovered treasure. The trove also yielded various adornments of the deity that was worth Rs 13 crore.
Meanwhile, sources claimed that the Travancore royal family may soon move the apex court as they are not so pleased with the over-hype in media about the treasure findings. The royal family may soon move the Supreme Court to avoid disclosing the details of the assets.
A senior palace official has been quoted as saying that the family will make the appeal after the earlier petition filed by one of the elder members in the family, Moolam Tirunal Ramavarma comes before the Supreme Court for hearing. The source added, “The family is upset by this media frenzy and wants things to be kept under wraps till the inventory is over."
