Chennai: Jaya offers compensation to Dilshan's family
The Army personnel opened fire at the "innocent" teen just for crossing the boundary. The army denied the allegation and played a blame game over the boy citing the personnel shot the teen when he tried to pluck almonds from the residential quarters in the premises.
Jyalalithaa, condemning the brutal act of the jawans said, "This is not acceptable." She added the jawan could have easily made out that the boy was "not an extremist or a terrorist". She also promised to take strict legal action against the culprit.
The army termed the incident as "very unfortunate", and said it will not let the guilty free. The Tamil Nadu government has transferred the case to CB-CID.
This incident triggered protests all over the state. The army's act have outraged the people as the incident seemed like armed personnel are misusing their power and position.
