Bangalore, Jul 1: Bringing disgrace to the country, two of India's women athletes, who had won the Asian Games gold medals and the Commonwealth Games were tested positive after failing a dope test. Not only this, but four more were tested positive after failing the drug test.

Jauna Murmu, Sini Jose, Mandip Kaur, long jumper Hari Krishnan, shot putter Sonia and runner Tiana Mary Thomas were tested positive for anabolic steroids, said media reports.

The tests, conducted by National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) reported that all the athletes used steroids following which all were suspended provisionally.

The results of the sample taken by NADA from Jun 11 to Jun 14 during the National Inter-State Athletics Meet, Bangalore indicated that Jauna, Jose, Sonia and Hari Krishnan were tested positive for taking methandienone, a banned medicine, while Tiana Mary Thomas was tested positive for an energy storing steroid, epimethandiol in urine, said media reports.

This is for the second time that Jauna Murmu has failed the dope test. She was tested positive earlier in a dope test conducted by International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) in Patiala in Jun at a training camp.

Mandip Kaur was also tested positive for a drug test conducted by IAAF.

Tiana Mary, a newcomer from Kerala was tested positive for methandieone and stanozol, while 24-year-old Sini Jose, who too hails from Kerala was tested positive for methandieone.
