Now, in a further act to validate his stand, he is set to embark on a hunger strike if an enquiry is not initiated by the State government into the various allegations that was levelled against him and his family by the BJP. Kumaraswamy was quoted as saying to reporters, “If the Government fails to order a probe in a week, with the condition to submit inquiry report in three months, I will begin the fast in front of the Vidhana Soudha from July 8."
The BJP had recently went on an accusation spree against Kumaraswamy and family and released a booklet titled, 'Amassing wealth by corrupt practices: A tell-tale story of H D Kumaraswamy and family'. This was a direct result of Kumaraswamy engaging in a verbal tirade against Karnataka CM accusing him of massive financial irregularities.
Kumaraswamy had strongly stated earlier, “If people still believe in what the BJP has been saying, I will quit politics." He had alleged that Yeddyurappa had accused him without any documentary evidence, while he can prove his pointing with the backing of proper documents.
The BJP's special representative in New Delhi, Dhananjay Kumar ruled out handing over the case to the CBI based on the allegations against the Gowda family. He also lambasted and stated that the CBI was controlled by the Congress and there was not even a faint chance of the CBI taking charge of the matter and said that the state government would probe the matter on its own.
