Washington, Jun 29: Tiger Woods, who had to skip the recently concluded US Open Golf tournament due to a leg-injury, is unlikely to play in the British Open as well. The former World Number One golfer from the United States of America, said that he has not hit full golf shots yet.

The British Open is scheduled from July 14 to 17 at the Royal St. George's.

Speaking at a press-conference at the PGA Tour event he is hosting this week at Aronimink, Woods said, "I don't know," while answering to a question about his participation in the British Open and added, "And that's hard for me. I'm always goal oriented, but I'm not doing that this time."

Admitting that he had made a mistake in deciding to try and play in the Players Championship a few weeks after injuring himself at the Masters, the 14-times major winner said, "I learned my lesson at the Players. I'll come back when I'm 100 percent. I don't know when that will be. But I'm getting stronger and more explosive."

It can be recalled that Woods hurt his left knee ligaments and Achilles tendon during the Masters in April. He participated in the the Players' Championship on May 12, but pulled out after playing just nine holes.

Speaking about his recovery, the American said, "Each week I was able to progress either two or three clubs in the bag. It doesn't mean I'm going to do that now. It's also dependent on how it all feels on a daily basis."

He added, "We're trying to push it every day and challenge my leg every day and see how it responds. If it gets better, then we move progressively a bit further, and if it doesn't, then we either stay there or take a step back."

Stressing that he would be very disappointed if he would have to pull out of the British Open, the former World number one said, "That's hard for me. I've always been very goal-oriented about when I'm going to play, how I'm going to peak, how I'm going to get ready, how my practice schedule is going to be, and I'm not doing that this time."
