Acting on the disclosures made by accused Anand Tiwari, RK Verma and Vinod Sharma, a 7.56 caliber pistol was retrieved from Tiwari's house in Gudamba on Jun 26, said a senior police official.
"The second pistol used in Singh murder has been recovered on revelations made by the three accused arrested by the STF on Jun 17," he said .
The police earlier said that the accused were hired by the late YS Sachan, Deputy CMO to kill Singh.
YS Sachan, Deputy CMO arrested on charges of killing BP Singh was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the unused toilet of the hospital where he was admitted for treatment.
The Mayawati government was criticised for its governance by various opposition parties. Congress also staged a 'Nyaya' march in Lucknow against the alleged spurt in crimes in Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier an official from Medico Legal Department, UP alleged that deputy CMO Sachan was killed and did not commit suicide.
The postmortem reports revealed that there were 6 deep injuries on the body of Sachan and it confirmed that he died due to excessive bleeding.
Sachan was arrested on charges of murdering BP Singh, a CMO on Jun 17. BP Singh was murdered on Apr 2, 2011 over charging the irregularities in purchasing drugs and equipments under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
With the politics over lawlessness in Uttar Pradesh being in full-swing, it now remains to be seen as to what the state government and the opposition parties resort to in their game of one-upmanship.
