According to Mayuri's parents, she was killed by her family members and her husband, Arjun Yadav, while her in-laws asserted that she committed suicide.
A case of dowry death under IPC Section 304B has been registered against her husband, relatives and in-laws. There was a clash between the two families after the news of Mayuri's death came out.
At around 6 pm in the evening, Mayuri's family received a call from her in-laws house that Mayuri had committed suicide, said her brother Manoj Yadav.
"We rushed to her house and found her body in the bedroom. We suspect she was murdered by her in-laws," he said.
Mayuri and Manoj were married for five years and have three children. Her brother also claimed that Mayuri was constantly harassed for dowry by her in-laws and her husband.
“We gave gold jewellery, cash and other articles at the time of marriage," said her brother.
Mayuri's family often gave money to her husband to "settle" the constant trouble between the couple.
The news of Mayuri's death comes a week after Jaipal Reddy, Union Minister's niece Kiran Reddy was found dead at her house on Jun 19. According to the victims family, her husband and his family are responsible for the death of Kiran. Police later arrested Chaitanya Reddy, husband of Kiran Reddy on charges of her murder.
