New Delhi, Jun 25: Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) slammed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati over the increasing crimes in the state.

During a press conference at New Delhi on Friday Jun 24, BJP leaders questioned Mayawati's silence over the increasing murder and rape cases in the state. BJP leaders alleged that leaders of the ruling BSP party have involved in the mysterious death of deputy Chief Medical Officer (CMO) YS Sachan.

BJP leaders also added that the party will ask Election Commission to keep an vigil eye on the state as it is heading towards Assembly election in 2012.

Meanwhile, Mayawati sacked BSP Bijnor MLA, Shahnawaz Rana from the party after his security aides were arrested for allegedly attempting to rape two Delhi girls. Mayawati directed the Special Task Force to probe the incident.

Sources added that Mayawati suspended Shahnawaz Rana from the membership of BSP and asked other party leaders not to invite the accused MLA for any party function.

"The Special Task Force has been directed to probe the incident and stern action should be taken against anyone found guilty," Principal Secretary (Home) Kunwar Fateh Bahadur said.

Earlier on Jun 23, police arrested five people including two policemen after two women alleged that aides of MLA Rana tried to rape them near Vehalna Chowk on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in Muzaffarnagar district.
