The court has also directed the jail superintendent to provide proper health facilities to Morani following doctor's orders. Justice Ajit Bharihoke declared on the order, “The concerned jail superintendent of Tihal Jail and the medical superintendent of the concerned hospital, where the petitioner is getting treatment, are directed to submit a detailed report on his medical condition within two days."
Bharihoke added, “The respondent (CBI) is directed to verify the facts and submit a report on the medical condition of the petitioner. In the meanwhile, the concerned jail superintendent is directed to ensure proper medical treatment to the petitioner (Morani) as per the advise of the treating doctor, of the concerned government hospital" The CBI has been instructed to submit a report by Monday which is also the next hearing date.
The order came at a point when the CBI counsel had asked for more time to respond to Morani's bail application plea. The CBI stating that this was a result of the jail authorities not co-operating with them to give health updates in spite of the court's earlier order.
The advocate representing Morani, Siddharth Lutra had applied for bail citing his clients failing health. To this, the justice had responded by instructing the counsel to submit fresh documents on his health.
