Ready to face Delhi police's brutality, Anna slaps Digvijay

Anna Hazare and Digvijay Singh
New Delhi, Jun 23: After Congress general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Digvijay Singh warned Anna Hazare over his (Hazare's) plan to resume fast, the Gandhian crusader hurled a reverse attack on Digvijay.

Hazare on Thursday, Jun 23 claimed that he will resume his fast from Aug 16 as the UPA government has "cheated the nation" over Lokpal bill and dealing with corruption issue. He (Hazare) also claimed that he will "welcome" any kind of action from Delhi police and other government authorities.

Earlier on Wednesday, Digvijay had claimed that Hazare might have to face "Ramdev-like" situation if he (Hazare) starts his protest against the government.

"Anna saheb says he will again sit on fast. If he does so, he may get the same treatment as the other (Baba Ramdev) got recently," said the Congress bombshell Digvijay.

In another attack on the other members of the civil society, who were appointed to draft the Lokpal draft, Digvijay said, "The constitutional system in this country is supreme and responsible to the people of the nation, but the four members of Anna team are not responsible to the people of the country."

It can be recalled that Delhi police cracked down on Baba Ramdev and on his supporters at Ramlila Maidan on Jun 4 and they were booted out from the national capital. Ramdev started his fast-unto-death from Delhi demanding to bring back black money stashed in foreign nations. After the interruption of Delhi police, the yoga guru resumed his fast in Haridwar, though his (Ramdev's) struggle ended at a hospital in Dehradoon.

However, Baba Ramdev has recently announced his intention to join Hazare in Delhi when the Gandhian crusader begins his fight against the government again.
