According to the victims family, her husband and his family are responsible for the death of Kiran.
Postmortem revealed that Kiran was smothered to death, though, investigating officers assert that her body bore no sign of force.
Kiran Reddy's husband Chaitanya Reddy told the police that his wife was drunk at the bachelor party hosted by his brother-in-law on Friday, Jun 17.
"After reaching home, she even called up her brother and informed him that she had reached home safely. So, she seemed to be perfectly all right till then. We suspect that either she was drugged or poisoned at home or just before leaving the pub," said a source.
"There were no blood stains in the room, but an injection bottle's metallic cap was found. Both Kiran and Chaitanya are doctors and several medicines were found so we could not arrive at any conclusion," said the source after metal caps of injection bottles were found near her.
"The bathroom in Kiran's room was smelling of vodka, but no residues of vomit could be found as she might have flushed it," said an official on police suspecting that the victim might have vomited after reaching home.
"Kiran Reddy's death is suspicious," said A K Khan, police commissioner, Hyderabad.
"We have sent a detailed questionnaire to the three-member team of doctors who had conducted the autopsy. Once the report is out, we will be able to establish the cause of death," said Khan.
26-year-old Kiran Reddy, a dermatologist by profession was found dead in her room in her house at Nyaya Vihar in Bharani Layout on Road No 78, Jubilee Hills on Jun 19.
