Employees to get salary payments through banks from Sept 1
This house would be used in Delhi by the WB government for the chief minister and other important guests. But, at the same time, Banerjee seemed quite unhappy as the old heritage building was demolished and a new four-storey structure has come up there.
The Trinamool Congress-led West Bengal government will bring out a "white paper" on the "precarious" financial situation and make salary payments to all WB staffs through banks from September 1.
Banerjee announced that a special audit would be executed by the WB Finance Ministry on "precarious financial situation". "Once this is over, our Finance Minister (Amit Mitra) will table a white paper," she added.
Banerjee was replying to a wide range of questions including the two-decade-old contentious Gorkhaland issue, land acquisition and development projects at the Press Club. Expressing her view on the Lokpal issue, she said that inclusion of the Prime Minister or Chief Justice of India in the ambit of Lokpal "hardly matters" in the fight against corruption.
