Chidambaram on two-day visit to Kashmir Valley

New Delhi, Jun 20: Home affairs minister, P Chidambaram would undertake a two-day visit to the Kashmir valley on Monday, Jun 20 in order to adjudge a security review and also to meet the officials of South Kashmir.

Chidambaram will arrive in Srinagar on Monday, Jun 20 along with Director General of CRPF, K Vijay Kumar, BSF Chief Raman Srivastava and senior officials from Home Ministry.

According to sources, he would go for a security review meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday, Jun 21. This meeting will also include police, para-military forces and officials of state and central home department.

Chidambaram will also move to Pahalgham in order to hold a meeting with the officials of South Kashmir. This meeting is part of series of interactions that the Home Minister started with officials at the district level.

The Pahalgham meeting will also review the development works in South Kashmir and security arrangements for Amarnath Yatra.
