Cash-haul in Anantpur;driver from Sai trust being questioned
The unaccounted money has raised many questions among police officials on why the money was transported to Bangalore in the middle of the night. Police claim that the cash could be between Rupees 25-50 lakhs. They also added that the cash could be from the Sai trust as they are the only people capable of handling such a large amount of money around the area.
One of the drivers of the vehicle, was an employee of the Sathya Sai trust reveled Anantapur SP, Shahnawaz Qasim. The police are yet to ascertain the exact amount and have called for counting machines to put a figure into the cash haul. The police acted on a tip-off on the large amount of cash being transported to Bangalore.
Friday, Jun 17 had saw the Sai Central Trust members revealing the contents of the Yajur Mandir, Sai Baba's private chamber. Cash, valuables and other riches worth crores was found to be stacked in the chamber. RJ Ratnakar, trust member and Sai Baba's nephew had revealed that cash worth Rupees 11.5 crore rupees, 98 kilo gold and 307 kilo silver was found inside that was moved to a bank for safe keeping.
