Citing the "people briefed on Facebook"s plans," The New York Times reported that the new Facebook for iPad will be launched in "coming weeks." The report added that the new free application "has been carefully designed and optimized for the tablet."
The new Facebook app for iPad will have more features than the regular Facebook website. It may allow users to take photos and video through iPad camera and can be uploaded to Facebook directly. According to reports, photo and video uploading capabilities are "amazing, offering full-resolution and full-screen images."
Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, who expects Facebook reaching 1 billion user mark in 2012, took keen interest in developing the new app for iPad. It seems like he wants to make the Facebook platform to a full Web-based mobile platform, which offers apps downloads, online purchasing and many more other services.
