"Whenever the Congress is charged with corruption or any other issue, its response has been predictable. They resort to labelling people and charging them with destabilizing government. During Bofors, VP Singh was called an RSS agent, while during Emergency, Jayaprakash Narayan was branded as a CIA agent," BJP general secretary Dipayan Chakraborty said.
The BJP's reaction came after AICC leaders Dhaniram Shandil and Sanjay Bapna besides some senior Congress leaders in the state went hammer and tongs against Yuga Guru Ramdev, describing him as a businessman backed by the RSS and BJP.
"This is well known that the Congress leaders from Delhi will speak the same line with their central leaders blaming the RSS and BJP for the anti-corruption agitation by Ramdev and Anna Haazare," Chakraborty said.
Questioning as to why four senior cabinet ministers had to go to an airport to meet "businessman" Ramdev, the BJP contended that the common people will no be convinced by the contentions of the Congress as they acknowledge the campaign launched by the two crusaders.
