Was Baba Ramdev's 'fast' scripted?

Dehradun, Jun 16: Baba Ramdev's ascend and descend as the champion of the masses was quick. With his political ambitions preceding his real motive of the fast against corruption, Baba Ramdev has a brand new controversy knocking on his doors.

A new video clip is doing the rounds in the online space and the media that shows Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank talking to an unidentified person on the phone discussing how Baba Ramdev should end his fast.

The YouTube clip was uploaded under the user name 'GBJournalist'. With the latest expose expected to put the Baba in a fix, especially when his fast and protests were heavily backed by the BJP and the RSS.

The clip shows the Uttarakhand CM speaking on the phone referring to the person sitting on the other end as "Babuji" which was apparently recorded few hours before Ramdev ending his fast.

Baba Ramdev's fast had attracted immense media attention with various political parties questioning his credibility to take on corruption in the system. Congress had slammed the Baba over his gimmickry and had called him a "dhongi baba" with Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh making the most noise.

A website has also went to the extent of claiming, that the voice on the other end of the line is that of senior BJP leader LK Advani. The clip shows the voice in the other end expressing concerns if Ramdev will end his fast to which the CM replies that the decision was made after consulting with Baba Ramdev.

On the new controversy that has erupted, the Uttarakhand government's media adviser Dr Devendra Bhasin said, "The online video is an attempt to damage the state government's image. The BJP was with Baba Ramdev in raising the black money and corruption issues."
