Anna Hazare to resume fast on Aug 16 against 'Jokepal Bill'
Anna Hazare, who was fasting to set up Lokpal Bill against the corruption and black money in India, said that government has no intention to stop corruption in the country. He alleged that government has gone back from its promises and their move to prepare two drafts of the Bill surprised the Civil Society members.
Civil Society members questioned the relevance of the committee if the government want to make to drafts. Members said that government was making empty promises and the ministers were not interested to make the Bill according to people's wish.
Team Anna asked the government to conduct a national debate to draft the bill. Civil Society member Arvind Kejriwal alleged that government wants to keep the meeting's proceedings a secret. He added that the government was not ready to give the audio recordings of the last Lokpal Panel Meet. He also called Lokpal panel meet a "farce" and government's own version of Lokpal Bill as a "Jokepal Bil."
Civil Society members alleged that government took a U-Turn after promising all demands. Team Anna Hazare stated that they will continue their fight against the government to set-up a proper Lokpal Bill.
