Breakthrough in MiD DAY journo murder case:4 people detained
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan held a special press conference and informed about the detention of the four. Mumbai police picked up two people from Mumbra, near Mumbai and two from Pune.
Sources also confirmed that the bike, used by Dey's killers, have been found by the police. Police identified the three accused - Iqbal, Hatela and Manteen.
Sources further claim that all the detained in relation with Dey's murder case were the gang members of Chhota Shakil. Dey had once unearthed a Sandalwood smuggling and oil/diesel smuggling racket which allegedly harmed Chhota Shakeel and his gang members.
Dey, who was working with MiD DAY as a chief crime reporter, was killed on Jun 11 by four unidentified assailants.
The police commissioner in Mumbai is expected to hold an official press conference shortly on Wednesday.
