BJP leader blames Congress for its uncompromising attitude
Mukherjee had earlier attacked Hazare and Ramdev accusing the civil society of working to undermine democracy backed by BJP which was using "unconstitutional" methods in the anti-corruption movement. Mitra seemed very annoyed with such comments of such senior Congress person.
Mitra cleared the fact that it was the Congress who had invited Anna Hazare to the drafting committee of the proposed Lokpal Bill and now when a problem cropped up they were shifting responsibility on the RSS and BJP.
" I would rather put a counter question to Mr Mukherjee: who went to the airport to dissuade Baba Ramdev from launching his fast-undo-death? It was he and four other Central Ministers. When it did not pay off, they started putting the blame on us," he said.
Mitra also confirmed that,'' The Congress has become unnerved by the movement against corruption, which is steadily growing with the participation of various forces and personalities, and the BJP would always support this movement".
