Delhi Date: Jayalalithaa smiles, DMK cries
Jayalalithaa's visit to Delhi is closely watched by her political rival DMK party as rumours popped up about the possibilities of a political realignment with Congress. Though DMK continued to offer support for UPA amid Kanimozhi's arrest in 2G spectrum case, some of the prominent Congress leaders are not happy with the beleaguered relation.
Jayalalithaa reached Delhi on Monday afternoon and met BJP leader Ravishankar Prasad, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and CPI's National Secretary D Raja.
While meeting PM, the AIADMK chief is expected to take up issues concerning Tamil Nadu including power crisis and problems faced by Indian fishermen.
The Sri Lankan Tamils issue is also expected to be on the agenda, with the State Assembly adopting a unanimous resolution seeking New Delhi and other countries to impose sanctions on Sri Lanka for the way it had been handling the Tamils issue.
