Google buys online ad-tech firm Admeld @ $400 million
According to a report in TechCrunch, Google bought AdMeld to improve their presence in graphical, display ads market. In a recent survey, it was revealed that Google has been facing intense competition in the display ad market from the world's largest social networking, Facebook.
AdMeld, which launched in 2007, provides ad optimization services for web publishers. Its tools allow publishers to pull advertising from hundreds of ad networks, ad exchanges, and other sources, which allow them to see the most and least effective performing ads.
Anyhow, California-based Google declined to comment on rumors doing rounds on Admeld acquisition. AdMeld CEO Michael Barrett also refused to comment.
