UP poll war: Digvijay warns BJP,jokes on Uma Bharti's return
Cracking a joke on BJP's decision to allow Uma Bharti to return in the party, Digvijay said that the party (BJP) will soon confront with dire consequences as Uma has returned.
Snubbing tough competitions from the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Digvijay said that she was not a "challenge" for him for the upcoming assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.
Bharti was expelled from the saffron party after being given a show-cause notice by the BJP leadership for raising objections to L K Advani's praise of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. She had even slammed Advani for 'indiscipline' and had demanded his expulsion from the party.
A former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Uma Bharti had then gone ahead and formed her own political outfit Bhartiya Janshakti Party, which over a period of time failed to gather much support.
Despite a dramatic return, Uma does not figure in the list of the party's star campaigners for the Jun 25 Jebera by-election in Madhya Pradesh.
