Black money committee to meet on Jun 9
A committee will meet on Thursday, Jun 9, to hold a discussion on how to have a check on black money. The committee will be headed by the Chairman, Board of Direct Taxes.
The main aim of the meeting would be to have new tough laws, if it is possible to seize black money and announce it as a national asset. Issues in discussion will also focus on the requirement to introduce serious penalty for the one's who are found guilty of holding undeclared income.
The need to have check on undeclared income came as one of the list of demands put forward by Baba Ramdev, who was holding a fast till the government agreed to his demand at Ramlila grounds, Delhi . His fast was broken by a large number of police personnel's who descended at Ram Lila Maidan and lathi-charged his followers.
Anna Hazare who started his protest on Apr 5, also conducted a hunger strike demanding government to introduce Lokpal Bill in the Parliament to tackle the numerous corruptions that has ruined the roots of Indian political scenario.
The fight against corruption started by Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev irked various political parties, while many others came forward and showed their support in their movement.
