Pak: Party members object to budget by Christian Minister

Lahore, Jun 8: Legislators from the ruling party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in Punjab province, Pakistan raised objection to the upcoming budget being presented by Kamran Michael, Finance Minister on the grounds of religion.

Kamran Michael, who takes care of the human rights and minorities affairs in the province, was made the Finance Minister after the PML-N ended its association with the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in Mar in Punjab.

The leaders of PML-N are "in a bind trying" to work out who to designate the finance portfolio before Jun 10, the day the annual budget will be presented in the assembly.

Several members of PML-N raised objection to a Christian being given the privilege to announce the annual budget, said a daily.
