The CBI strongly opposed the bail plea of Kanimozhi and the court said that Kanimozhi could influence witnesses.
Kanimozhi's mother was reportedly in tears after the verdict came out.
"We will move Supreme Court as soon as possible," said TR Baalu reacting on the High Court's verdict that rejected Kanimozhi's bail plea.
The Delhi High Court earlier on May 30, had reserved order on the bail plea of Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar. Her lawyer Ram Jethmalani, portrayed her as a dutiful and responsible mother so her bail plea would be considered. Kanimozhi is currently lodged in Tihar jail along with Ex-Telecom Minister, A Raja and other accused in the 2G scam.
Her bail plea was earlier rejected on May 20 by Justice OP Saini, a special CBI Judge, after she was charged over her alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum scam for accepting a bribe of Rs 214 crore.
