However, the latest development in the Baba case allegedly claimed that Ramdev sheltered a criminal from Nepal. Baba's close aide, Acharya Balkrishna, who is missing since Delhi police's crackdown on Ramdev at Ramlila Maidan, is being accused of criminal conspiracy.
Sources informed that the immigration department can lodge a complaint against Balkrishna as he (Balkrishna) is accused of holding fake passport. Media reports also claimed that some maze companies are run by Balkrishna and other key associates of Baba Ramdev.
Income tax department had conducted a detailed search on Baba's premises including Haridwar ashram. Puri shankaracharya Swami Adhokshjanand Tirtha also claimed, "Ramdev has a lot of land and assets worth crores. These should be probed as well."
Baba, who held fast-unto-death over bringing back black money and corruption issues in general, continues his protest from Haridwar as he was barred to enter the national capital.
Despite Ramdev's repeated comparison of his protest with Anna Hazare's struggle, all above mentioned allegations raise some questions on Baba's image and clarity of his mission.
While Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan openly criticised Baba's fast as a "politically motivated movement", Shankaracharya slammed Baba Ramdev saying that government action towards Ramdev was right.
