Ramdev's 'missing aide' Acharya Balakrishna surfaces
Acharya Balakrishna who was accused as a Nepali born criminal, said that he was brutally beaten by Delhi police at Ramlila Maidan, the day when police detained Baba Ramdev. Balkrishna rejected the allegations that he fled to Nepal after police cracked down Ramdev's fast.
Acharya Balkrishna who was missing since three days, said that he was staying in Delhi to help the Ramdev supporters who were wounded in police raid. Balkrishna said that he will continue fast alike Baba Ramdev.
When reporters asked about his nationality, Balakrishna said that he is an Indian citizen but his parents are from Nepal.
Earlier, Nepal government had criticised Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh for his claims that Acharya Balkrishna fled to India after involving in criminal acts in Nepal.
"That is a lie and an indication of the way politicians from India's ruling party have been behaving after losing self control," said Lab Dev Mishra, Nepal chief, Patanjali YogSamiti.
"Acharya Balkrishna has been living in India since his childhood. It is absurd that he can be involved in criminal activities in Nepal."
Mishra said that Balkrishna acquired an Indian passport by fraud can only be validated after government made an official statement on how the document was procured and not merely on the basis of a minister's remark.
