Bail plea rejected again, Kalmadi continues to stay at Tihar

New Delhi, Jun 6: The Patiala court on Monday, Jun 6 rejected the bail plea of Suresh Kalmadi. Kalmadi, the sacked Organising Committee chief of CWG 2010, moved the court with bail plea and came with embarrassment.

Kalmadi, who is currently residing in Tihar jail in New Delhi, has been indicted over prevention of corruption act.

Kalmadi, along with other CWG OC officials, were earlier arrested for awarding the lucrative contract to the Swiss firm to install a Timing-Scoring-Result (TSR) system for the 2010 Commonwealth Games at an exorbitant cost, causing a loss of over Rs 90 crore to the exchequer.

The other officials who were arrested are - OC Joint Director General (Sport) A S V Prasad and Deputy Director General (Procurement) Surjit Lal.
