By Biswajeet Panda
Madrid, Jun 6: Spain, the World Champions in football are planning to cap off a glorious season on a winning note as they aim to beat Venezuala in a friendly away game. The team has flown in to Venezuala after crushing the US 4-0 on Jun 4. And expectedly, Vicente del Bosque, Spain's manager is upbeat about his team.

Speaking after the match in Boston, US, Del Bosque said, “We played well this evening from the start with good combinations and ideas. Now the plan is to finish the tour properly, with another good performance on Tuesday."

Singling out Fernando Torres for special praise, he said, “That was an important goal for Torres. He has not had an easy year. But he has a strong character, and he will continue to be an important player for us."

Torres has had a very difficult season, after he was signed on by Chelsea for a record amount from Manchester United. A visibly delighted Torres said, "I felt very comfortable as soon as I went onto the pitch, the sensations have been good.It has been a complicated year for me. I have only played twice for Spain, injuries have prevented me from being at a high level. But now I am happy. The team has won and everything has turned out perfectly."

After being benched for the initial part of the match against the US, Torres came off to score a goal and is thus likely to start in the playing XI on Jun 7, alongside Alvaro Negredo, another of the goal scorers in Boston.
